And a painful gut-punch to lose today's game, too. First, the closer gives up two runs in the bottom of the 9th for the Redbirds to tie it up at 6. Then, a walk-off HR ( I forgot who! ) won the game in the 10th.

So just in case you had any chirping Cub fans ask why our boys couldn't beat the Cards, feel free to ask them "Ain't so easy, it it?"

And another just awful play by Schwarber in left field. Love it.

Kolten Wong with the walk off. Very satisfying to watch.

NBC 5 showed a "high lite" on last night's sports news segment of him standing, falling, and then getting up and catching a routine fly ball and acted like it was a great play rather than a lucky play by a clutz with no business playing a position. The guy is an absolute butcher in LF.

I like the shoe play. Nice deflection.

Keep playing him out there Maddon.

Where else is he supposed to play?

Right. If he’s on the roster, he’s playing, and there is no other spot.

They should have traded him to the AL after their WS win. They still should.

They offered him to the White Sox in the Quintana deal. Hahn said no.

There is no other spot for Schwarber to play. So keep playing him out there and hopefully the club loses tight meaningful games.

(That said, he's probably a nice kid but it's Maddon who takes the cake.)

Dexter Fowler!!!!!

That win was even more satisfying than the Kolton Wong walk off.

That was ridiculous, even for the Cubs. I got home just in time to see it, too.

The NL Central is a **** show, and I am nkt.sure the Cubs have enough to make it out.

I would love for this to be true but I think the cubs will still win the division. The Cardinals, Brewers, and Pirates have too many holes.

I sure hope I’m wrong, though.
