Default Sox - Dodgers trade rumor?

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/...donaldson.html

Some Twitter chatter speculated Matt Kemp could be involved.

Guessing Dodgers are dumping Kemp and his contract on us and giving us a C-level prospect or two, while we give some D-level prospects.

Avilan is the PTBNL from the 2001 Jeff Barry trade.

How exactly is taking on salary and middle of the road prospects going to help the White Sox?

So the White Sox get Soria, Avilan, and cash for Jake Peter?

Ugh, I hope they can flip them for better prospects. I liked Peter.

Thatís a pretty decent deal, considering we were prepared to lose Peter in the Rule 5 draft.

It augments the bullpen for a player for whom we donít have a spot on the roster.

And if Avilan and/or Soria pitches halfway decently, either/both can be flipped at the deadline for more prospects.

With Moncada, we donít need a 2B. With Yolmer, we donít need a utility IF.

We do, however, need relievers who can eat innings this year, and if they are even serviceable we can deal them both for prospects.

I think that's absolutely the idea. Peter will be 25 and he was someone I was thinking would be a filler for the big club in this transition, but I just don't see him as anything special.

Love adding BP arms for the deadline.
