Of the top prospects, there is little to worry about except injuries. I think Fulmer sucks, and Collins worries me, but almost everyone who's healthy is playing great right now.

Sale:
Moncada - in majors
Kopech - looking great
Basabe - looking great

Eaton:
Giolito - in majors
Lopez - in majors
Dunning - looking great

Quintana:
Jimenez - looking great
Cease - looking great

Frazier/Robertson/Kahnle:
Rutherford - looking great
Clarkin - looking good

Swarzak:
Cordell - looked great this spring, now hurt

Cabrera:
Puckett - looking okay

Jennings:
Gillaspie - meh

International signings:
Robert - looked great this spring, now hurt
Adolfo - looking great despite being hurt

2015 draftees:
Fulmer - meh
Stephens - looking good
Zavala - looking great

2016 draftees:
Collins - meh
Burdi - hurt
Hansen - fantastic 2017, now hurt
several others looking good to great

2017 draftees:
Burger - hurt
Sheets - looking good
Gonzalez - looking great
several others looking good to great

Collins has a laughable .069 average. He is, somehow, worse than Hawkins so far.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

Still wondering when we're going to get any information about Hansen.

I had pegged last year for that; with this year starting the build up. But there was very little movement over the winter, so I hope you are right. Not that I was looking for any sort of movement on veterans (the White Sox are just awful at trading for veterans anyway)...just some young player trades to get some guys in here that fit our needs.

There were posts over the winter with people counting Rutherford out already. Don't know why people were feeling this way about him but I was really excited when the Sox traded for him last summer. Looks like he's off to an excellent start this year. Only 20 years old still.

Hey now, don't say things you can't take back.

I think we should take a second and marvel at the fact that a man with an .067 BA has a .326 OBP.

Yeah, he was a top 100 prospect last summer. A little slump shouldn't have been enough to write him off.

It's pretty astounding how bad he is at actually hitting a baseball. He clearly has an incredible eye and plate discipline. He hit .363 in the tough ACC as a senior at Miami. You'd think that would translate to at least a middling average in AA unless he's one of those guys that can't adjust to wood bats.

At what point do the Sox drop him back to W-S or promote Zavala to give them both more time at C?

Both of them are getting plenty of ABs, as they are sharing DH duties.

If you want him to focus more of defense, then yes, you split them up. But if hitting is the issue - and it seems to be the hitch in his swing - then it’s better that he learns to hit AA pitchers.

I give him until 2019 or 2020 until I call bust. Dude is still working on refining his swing, along with learning how to be a catcher. That'd be a lot for anyone to take on all at once. But if he keeps struggling like this, I can't see how he can justifiably stay in AA, and will need to be sent down.
