I have a new nickname for the Cubs:

The Fading Empire.

If I were the Cubs, I would not trade Bryant at this time, no matter the outcome of the arbitration.

His trade value, even as a one year rental, will be much higher in July as long as he remains healthy.

I wonder if he Cub see Bryant as someone who will contineu to drop in his batting. His average and health have steadily declined and if he only bats 260 his value will definitely go down

All of his offensive metrics, including his batting average, increased from 2018 to 2019.

So at day 1 on the Cubs convention Ricketts was booed loudly during his opening remarks when he started talking about Marquee and Bryant’s wife is on Twitter yelling at people who are accusing Bryant of faking having the flu so he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone.

Greenberg writes how the Sox are the more compelling team this season.

I listened to 670 the score for a few minutes on my way to the gym. During that time, Bruce Levine was busy making excuses for the Cubs FO not trying harder to extend some of their stars now. Then he said it's not like they don't spend money and referenced the fact the team makes contributions to charity. You know, like every single other team in baseball does.

I'm not on the anti-Cubs bandwagon but good god Levine is such a useful idiot for that front office.
