I ran his name in Google Translate. His name translated to "Huston Street."

Anyone else think the story out there that the Cubs called Arietta before they signed Darvish and offered him the same deal, he declined it, is BS put out there by Boras?

I can’t see any team dumb enough to give a guy in obvious decline a 6 year deal.

What do you mean? The Cubs just did it with Darvish.

I was wondering if that was true or not because Arrieta should have taken it in a second if it was a 6 year deal. He won't find that from MIL or MINN's offers.

In his 2 season since coming back from surgery his fastball has increased 2mph, his slider 1mph, and everything else has stayed the same.

Arrieta’s fastball and cutter have both lost 3mph since he won the Cy Young in 2015.

Correct. Darvish >>> Arrieta.

But one thing Jake has (had) going for him. He's stayed pretty healthy. How long has it been since Darvish threw 200 innings?

2013 was the last time Darvish reaches 200 innings pitched

I don't think you can underestimate the toll of pitching deep into the playoffs as Darvish (and Arrieta) did. Will be interesting to see how they hold up this season. Lester, Q, Hendricks, and Darvish is pretty solid on paper. We'll see how it plays out though.

Only 15 pitchers pitched at least 200 innings last year. Only 35 pitched at least 180 innings.

Only 15 pitchers pitched at least 200 innings in 2016 as well.

Context has been really overlooked around here lately.
