Tilson and Cordell have shown that they can play sound defense in the OF. Palka should be nowhere near the outfield unless he's engaging in a go-around of pepper.

Now, if Palka can play 1B...

Yonder Alonso is statistically the literal worst player in baseball by fWAR and bWAR. Why they haven't DFA'd him yet blows my mind. There's no way they can continue with this charade. I'm about giving players more time and more chances, but this is pathetic.

Agreed, he'd be here primarily as a DH but could fill in in RF occasionally.

However, if they do actually trade Abreu then there is room for Palka because Collins can cover 1B on a regular basis.

Sox will need to make another move before tomorrow's game. Unless they are going with a bullpen day, they will need to activate Covey (or someone else) to start. Alonso gone? Tilson?

Well of course they activated Jay, but they could have least had the common courtesy to cut Alonso at the same time. The Sox had 7 extra base hits all weekend. Get Palka up here.

Covey threw a bullpen session on Sunday and it sounds like it went well.

I'd expect either Tilson or Cordell to be sent down tomorrow. I think Alonso will hang around until Castillo gets back.

That’s just great! Another well below average pitcher in the rotation! Hopefully will be saying goodbye to Despaigne!

Despaigne already was DFA'd to make room for Jay.

...And he’s hitting 6th, sandwiched between Jimenez 5th and Moncada 7th. Alonso is hitting 8th.

“Hmm...should I pitch to Eloy, or should I take my chances with Jon Jay? Moncada, or Alonso?”

Absolute buffoonery. A child playing a baseball video game would do a better job.

Ill say tilson. Jay should be playing everyday to gain any type of worth possible.
