Default Offseason visit

My apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I am visiting Chicago next week from Oregon for the first time since 2001 (I grew up in the area but life happens).

As part of my visit I would like to get down the the park. At the very least I want to see my brick at the championship monument.

Is there anything at the park that is open this time of year? Any recommendations for where to take the family - I sure a lot had changed since I was last there.

Ok, here is my plan for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Take the red line to 35th, walk to the park and look around. If I can't get in well, I ll come back in the summer :-). Then walk down to 35th St Red Hots for lunch then down to the Grandstand and buy a lot of Sox stuff.

312-674-1000.

The brick plaza is outside, its access is 24/7/365

I think the biggest changes are probably east of the interstate, so perhaps take the Green Line there and marvel at how the IIT campus has changed.

Grandstand is great but don't overlook Chicago Sports Depot at the ball park. Open next Tuesday 12:00-5:00. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/ballpar...o-sports-depot

We went down to the park on the red line, went over to the champions plaza and we found my brick. As we were taking pictures and looking around, a security guard came up and struck up a conversation. We told him we were from out of town so he took us inside and gave us a private tour!

We got to sit in the Sox dugout, pick up the bullpen phone, go to the Sox bullpen and see the tunnel where players and umpires come in. We also saw the World Series Trophy and rings. It was totally unexpected and very cool. I and my family will never forget it.

This is awesome. Good for you and yours and kudos to the security guard. Happy Thanksgiving!

That is fantastic! When you picked up the phone, did you tell the bullpen to get the Big Wide Guy up and warming?
