How can you put the bottom of the eighth into words?

Hell, just leave Volstad in there....obviously he totally had control of the game. Seriously, at what point may there have been a bit of an indicator that he stunk tonight. Maybe the frozen ropes that the first two batters put in play....no, Ricky, just leave him in there for as long as possible. Jesus.

Ricky just didn't give a **** tonight.

Seriously, why is Minaya drawing a paycheck? Why is Volstad pitching with the game on the line? We now have better options in the minors.

9th game the Sox have lost when leading in the 7th inning or later.

More Little-League like, brain-dead, baseball-stupid, baseball in the 8th inning. Words fail me. Fundamentals are a foreign word to these guys.

And Ricky just sits there making bad decision after bad decision. Wow.

This rebuild will never ever ever happen if Renteria is here.

This team has no situational awareness, continuously makes boneheaded plays, and can't field worth a lick.

It honestly looks like they don't practice. Especially situations. The good teams do.

Renteria has zero baseball sense. Didn't think we could get worse than Robin.

It seriously reaffirms my belief that this organization is pretty much a joke.

I don't expect them to win, but I do expect at least acceptable fundamentals.

That pathetic 8th inning completely overshadowed another good game by Shields, 2 doubles by Moncada, and Avi staying red hot at the plate. What was Renteria thinking leaving Volstad in the game? Also what was Davidson doing on that ground ball?

I guess he thought he could get two, realized he couldn't and fired home for the force, but Omar thought the force was off... Comedy of Mistakes.

I would dearly love to somehow witness the reactions of JR, Kenny, Hahn and the rest of the baseball side of the front office when they see this stupid **** night after night after night.

Jeanmar Gomez and his 2.15 ERA languish in Charlotte- while we trot out Volstad and Minaya?

Without Jones and Farquhar- our right handed options for the 7th/8th are very limited- especially since Rondon fell off a cliff.

Another pathetic show underscoring the poor fundamentals of this team. How can the fan base have any faith in this organization actually pulling off a successful rebuild? The more I see of Renteria and his hair-brained decision making, the more I realize he won't be around when this team comes to fruition in 2020.

Hard to watch, especially when you know they'll find a way to s*** on themselves in the crucial late innings. The only reason for watching is to see how they are going to f*** it up.

Jerry couldn't even fire Ventura.

What makes you think he'll fire RR?

Ricky’s boys don’t quit...finding creative ways to lose games!

Ricky Renteria, Chris Volstad, Omar Narvaez, and Matt Davidson are four people who won’t be with the Sox when the team is good again.

On the plus side I really am becoming a huge Avi fan. His growth and success in the midst of all the doubting is admirable. Hope he keeps it up and it's a shame he got hurt or else he might be in line for his second straight all-star appearance.

Otherwise, Davidson needs to step on the effing bag and at least get one out. Mercy. What a trainwreck. Can't imagine how pissed Shields must have been.
