Yep. You can't blame a guy for going to a family member's funeral, but between that and Loaiza's virus, this just ain't our year. Someone upstairs doesn't like us.

LOse 4 in a row to a team we had to beat.

I'm very disappointed-and coincidentally, Thomas stopped hitting when we needed him the most

Seriously though, it's reality time. We're done. We needed a sweep and now the best we can do is win a single game. Now I just want this season over. I can't wait until September 28th.
I agree. This team had more than enough chances to lock this thing up, and they didn't do it.

Even if they SOMEHOW manage to reach the post-season, they will be swept in the first round. They just don't have the right mix of players needed to win at this point in the season.

It hurts me to say that, but it's true. They needed him, and he didn't get it done. Oh well. He's had a pretty good year, as have the Sox, but it wasn't quite good enough.

*Sigh*

I really hope he doesn't try to spin it. This sucks any way you cut it, and the chances of winning the division are extremely low at this point. I think I'll be sick if he gives us the usual "I don't want to hear any of this 'it's over' stuff, because it's not over until all the games are played. Talk to me when the season is over." It ain't that simple anymore.

Once the regular season ends, baseball is over for me. I'm not watching any post-season games. I didn't last season, and I'm not going to this season. Without the Sox, there's really no point.

I don't know about that. Jose has been getting an awful lot of plate appearances. He may just exceed the total needed to trigger the $5M salary guarantee for next year.

Again, the only runs we got were on HR-4 years in a row over 200 HR-only 1 post season to show. WE need some unselfish role players. I miss Scott Fletcher

Another lack of cajones on Jerry Manuel's part--I'd threaten to put him on waivers if he ever went up there and batted right-handed--.144 average, unbelievable.

And let's not forget to give a hand to Thomas, Ordonez and Konerko for doing nothing when it really counted.
