Default If you were to make movies about MLB, what stories would you cover?

There is no doubt Major League is the gold standard of MLB flicks. The Babe was terrible. Field of Dreams doesn't count, didn't have enough MLB. Bull Durham neither.

I'd love to make a movie about every recent world champ.

I'd title the 1967 version "Bob", and focus on Gibson's life culminating with the title.

1968's would be Bob 2, continuing Gibson's story, culminating in the WS loss.

69 would be Amazing, naturally. Nolan Ryan would be the main focus.

70 would be Finally, since it was quite a wait for the O's to break thru with that squad.

71 would be Roberto, focused on Clemente's life.

72 would be "3, part 1". Last scene would be Rollie getting a moustache trim.

73 would be "3, part 2". Their 2nd title.

74 would be "3, part 3". The 3peat concludes.

75 would be The Big Red Machine. Ending scene would have Pete at the track placing bets.

76 would be The Big Red Machine 2. More scenes of Pete gambling throughout the flick.

77 would be Mr October. Reggie's personal life takes center stage, along with the Summer of Sam.

78 would be Mr October 2. More Reggie, more NY.

79 would be called We Are Family. Opening scene would have Buc fans visiting Clemente's grave.

80 would be Brotherly Love. Mike Schmidt takes center stage in this one.

81 would be "In the Air that Night". A line from an ABBA song about the Dodgers' ace (well, not about, but same name).

82 would be Brewtown. Harvey's Wallbangers get some shine in this one too.

83 would be Caltimore. Cal's life takes center stage as he leads em to the title.

84 would be Detroit Rock City. With KISS on the soundtrack.

85 would be "Royal". A good jazz soundtrack to accompany.

86 would be New York, New York. Movie opens with the Challenger tragedy, and Doc and Darryl's reactions to it.

87 would be Home Sweet Dome. Construction of the dome starts off the flick.

88 would be A Roll of The Dice. "You wanna talk about a roll of the dice... this is it".

89 would be Quake. Focus on the earthquake, and how the players and fans cope.

90 would be Nasty. Because nasty boys.

91 would be Home Sweet Dome part 2.

92 would be O Canada.

93 would be O Canada part 2

95 would The Surgeon, focusing on Maddux, who was a surgeon on the mound.

96 would be Return of the King, since NYY returned to the throne

97 would be Welcome to Miami, with the Will Smith song on the soundtrack

98 would be Reign of the King

99 would be Wrath of the King, since the NYY got pretty mean that year

00 would be The Eternal King, since it seemed NYY would be champs forever

01 would be Farewell to the King

02 would be You're My Angel, with Aerosmith on the soundtrack

03 would be Miami 2, with more Will Smith

04 would be The Idiots

05 would be The Wizards of Oz, of course

06 would be Brewtown 2

07 would be More Idiots

08 would be Brotherly 2

09 would be Resurrection, since NYY returned from the dead

'10 would be Torture

'11 would be Brewtown 3

'12 would be Torture 2

'13 would be The Final Idiot, which Ortiz was

'14 would be Torture 3

'15 would be Royal 2

'16 would be Of Mice and Billy Goats

Phew, kinda got carried away there. Anyway, what MLB movies would you make, and what would they be called

A movie about Pete Alexander. Not to many can beat his life story.

''THE NIGHT OF THE SIRENS''.......The story of the 1959 Go-Go White Sox.

''THE GREATEST RACE''................The story of the 1967 American League Pennant Race.
Batting in the second position for the White Sox, number 2, the second baseman Nelson Fox.

Grantland (RIP) had an article about the '89 Series.

And ESPN also had a 30 for 30 about it.
Attendance records:
09 : 3-2.
10 : 2-3.
11: 0-1.
12: 2-1.
14: 2-3.
15: 3-3.
16: 1-0.

Solid ideas.

The Pete Alexander biopic would have to be shown in 2 parts on non-consecutive nights.

I like most of those movie titles, but some I'm not really sure about. Since the Brewers made the Series in '82, I thought it was supposed to be about them until I saw the other Brewtown titles. And Farewell to the King doesn't really work because while the '01 Series signaled the end of the Yankee dynasty, the far bigger story that year was how baseball helped New York cope right after 9/11. There was even an HBO documentary about it with that angle. It would be a damn shame to not include Piazza's home run either even though that wasn't even the same team, let alone the World Series. Otherwise, pretty good.

the Tampa Bay Rays improvement from a laughingstock to an AL champion would make a good movie, IMO. And there'd be a scene where they are teeing off Javier Vasquez in the ALDS.

The South(side) Rises Again: The story of the worst to first 2018 Chicago White Sox and how their rebuilding efforts came to full fruition years before anyone expected it to as they stomped their way to a World Series sweep of their Northside rivals.

Riding shotgun on the Sox bandwagon since before there was an Internet...
