The entire National League s pretty weak. The West may be as weak as the Central, and the Cubs could easily miss the postseason if they don't get superior starting pitching,
Starting pitching has been a bit of problem this year, and it could easily burn out their bullpen. The bullpen already has been having issues. They likely won't be able to get any starting pitching in midseason trade without giving up major-league talent (as the Giants did last summer in trading their regular third baseman to the Rays for Moore.) Any smart GM will demand more than prospects.
