Default Ynoa DFA...

More flotsam removed from the roster.

Robertson now activated.

Sox need to get rid of guys like Infante next.

A little surprised they have DFA'd Ynoa given his relationship with Robert instead of sending down Infante or Minaya.

By the time Robert is ready for the major leagues Ynoa would have been long gone anyways.

CSN Chicago listed Ynoa as a top prospect for the Sox in its story about his release.

He was a top prospect? According to whom?

Indeed he did. He was outrighted to Charlotte.

It's possible a dyslexic editor misread Ynoa as Yoan. Ray Fosse, color man on the A's broadcasting team, was talking about Johan Moncada this week, so he wouldn't be confused.

A roster spot was needed. Somebody from the bullpen was going down (metaphorically) and there are so many unworthy relievers in the Sox bullpen. You could say something similar for the rotation.

As bad as other bullpens are, it wouldn't surprise me if the Sox work a small deal involving Michael Ynoa.

Baseball Prospectus ranked Ynoa the #20 prospect in all of baseball in the offseason before 2009 and #66 before 2010 when he was an Oakland farmhand.

Wow- you have to really suck to be cut while Infante and Minaya still have jobs.

The volatility on these prospects and the rankings attached to them. This is why more of them in quantity is always better. That drop off there is kind of similar to the updated rankings on both Giolito and Lopez.

That's not really what the article said, it was just a misleading headline. He was a prospect years ago, nobody considered him a prospect anymore.
