Default MLB unveils new spring training/BP hats

Good God they're hideous. I feel like I never really see anyone wearing these around, but they keep coming up with these god awful designs so I assume someone somewhere is buying them.

Some of those are subtle and awesome. There's some really lousy ones, though, that make me wonder if they let opponent's fans design them.

At a quick glance I like

A's
Nationals
Twins
Blue Jays
Rockies

Only ones that pretty look bad are

White Sox
Cubs
Brewers
Padres
Braves

Rest are just ok

They all look awful. What were they thinking?

I’d totally rock the Dbacks one. Dodgers, Brewers and Marlins are pretty sweet, too. There’s more that came out fine like the Halo that I’d wear if I were a fan of the team. I wear less hats than I used to, but there’s still only so many plain Sox hats a guy can buy.

Ours just happens to be terrible ...

Who's the photoshop genius who wants to flip the design for us with the Batterman outline only inside the Sox script?

Both Chicago teams getting the short end of the stick here. The Cubs one looks like something made by a person who just got Photoshop for the first time.

People my age are clearly not the target demographic for caps like that, so the fact that I think they're hideous is kinda irrelevant.

Let's see what kind of revenue they bring in.

BTW, they look terrible.

That's what I want to know too. I don't think I have ever seen anyone wearing the spring training caps or jerseys of recent vintage (the fact they change every year probably doesn't help), I also don't think I have ever seen anyone wear the ugly All Star caps or jerseys they wear now. But, just because I don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I have the last few in both black and white and red, white and blue. They’re good golf hats here in AZ because of the material.

I see a lot of both our tradition script and ST batterman ones in Glendale and other Sox games. I also see a huge clearance pile of ST hats on clearance at Dick’s down here every year come April where coupons make them like $6 apiece, so yeah, I totally wear them.

This will be the first time I haven’t bought the ST hat in a while.

Personally I don't see an issue with most of them. Some stick out as bad, but the whole concept is a cool one. If you want to wear something unique that represents your team and not a lot of people will have, these make good options.
