Default Minor League Coaches Announced

Pretty much everyone is listed here. I don't know anything about any of these guys other than Danny Farquhar who is now the pitching coach at Winston-Salem.

I'm thinking that Jirschele is just two or three years away from taking over as the White Sox manager...

Sox are definitely going all in on the high tech batting approach and are working with a firm out of South Elgin (hired as minor league coaches) to work on a number of different hitting issues including finding the right bat which these guys claim can add 1.5 MPH exit velocity all by itself.

This is an Athletic article, but it explained this stuff well and I feel like I understand it better now.

That’s awesome. It wonder what Getz’ influence is on these decisions, because I believe strongly that he was brought in to advance these new systems of player development. His whole career coincided with the launch of new systems for analytics that rose alongside PITCHf/x and Statcast. Now Trackman is being used for pitching which is cool because as a golfer, I can’t tell you how much stuff you can do with that tool or express how much it helped my game.

It would be interesting finding out which players actually switch bats because of this analysis.
