How nice of Charlotte, giving the rest of the IL time to rest from his onslaught.

Word is the manager benched him because he wouldn't trim his sideburns.

by the way, it looks like Flores has made a rehab start for the AZL team. He's been out for a while with an oblique strain. Good to see him making his way back to action.

Kannapolis lost 7-5

Vaughn 0/4 BB lined out to end the game.
Quinterio 2/4 R
Hickman 1/3 2B 2 RBI R HBP

Declan Cronin who was this year's 36th round pick and crushed rookie ball appeared in his second game for Kannapolis. First did not go well but tonight he was much better: 2.2 IP 0 R 0 H 1 BB He's 21 from Holy Cross

Saw Declan twice down here in the AZL. Low 3/4 arm slot, touched the mid 90s with sink which surprised me since his scouting report said he sat in the low 90s. Perhaps more juice throwing short appearances? He could move fast in the pen.

Sox Machine has some updates (courtesy of James Fegan) on our #2 and #3 pick as well as one of our new international signees.

Thompson and Dalquist: neither will see action until the fall instructional league

Yolbert Sanchez: Will remain on the DSL team for the rest of this season.

Pondering Danny Mendick.

I’d kind of like the Sox to give him an opportunity, even at Yolmer’s expense, just to see what he can do in the majors. Maybe he’s a trade piece once Madrigal is ready.

But I wonder if Hahn intends to treat him like a trade piece this offseason, just like when he dealt Jake Peter to help build out his bullpen. Maybe he thinks that testing Mendick in the majors this year is too risky to his trade value?

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.
