Default Nellie Fox Jersey Cut Baseball Card.

A few days ago I ran across a Nellie Fox card on eBay, that had a cut or swatch of an actual game worn/used Sox jersey. With S/H I got it for $5. You canít go wrong for that price. I only have a couple other of those swatch cards in my collection, an Aparicio and a Catfish Hunter.

I was wondering does anybody on here have any unusual or out of the ordinary White Sox memorabilia? I know a couple of guys from a Sox fan club I belong to, have Nellie Foxís autograph! One guy has it on a Baseball he bought at an estate auction about 20 years ago, an the other has the 1959 World Series program autographed by the entire team. He said he got most of them at the 10 year reunion at the Park back in 1969. (Heís been trying to do the same thing with his 2005 World Series Program....I think heís got about 1/2 of them so far)

My Nellie Fox bat card. Besides that I have a 1959 Yearbook and the Go Go White Sox by Dave Condon which tells how the 59 team was built and highlights that great season.I also have a 1991 baseball off the bat of Carlton Fisk which is a little special because it has the inaugural year of the ballpark logo.

The biggest conversation piece Sox memorabilia I have is a set of Russian nesting dolls given out during the 2004 season. This was right after the Olivo-for-Garcia trade (it may have been Freddy's second start with the Sox?) and you have Ozzie Guillen as the largest doll, inside of him is Mark Buehrle, and inside of him is Esteban Loaiza.

I was actually feeling sick that day and didn't want to go. I asked on WSI if anyone going that day wanted to sell me their doll. Because I had just posted a lot of pessimistic stuff about the Garcia trade, everyone told me to sod off and I dragged myself to the game, which the Sox won.

Miguel Olivo, to my surprise, did not end up becoming a perennial All-Star like I was certain he would.

Some more stuff including a letter from Bill Veeck.
Down through the years I have thrown a lot of stuff away, mostly yearbooks, programs
media guides and ticket stubs. I still have newspapers with great Sox moments through the years like 59 and 2005 and when Nellie made the HOF.
Jungle Jim Rivera gave me that photo in 1998 when I checked him in for a round of golf at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. Met Steve Trout at Hunters Ridge Golf Club in 2009 in Bonita Springs Fl. and he gave me the autographed ball. The photo of Trout and my son was in 1979 about a week after Disco Demo night, Trout got a big kick out of seeing that photo and I had him sign a copy and sent it to my son who is now 49.
A lot of great memories since 1952 but it's a shame the franchise couldn't produce a lot more memories.

I have a 1951 Nellie Fox card issued by Baseball Picture Cards.
I also have a news paper issued by the Buffalo Express, Buffalo NY, August 3,1921 with the head line, "White Sox Players Not Guilty".
Also, an Original Comiskey Park Brick, 1910-1991, sold by the Speedway Wrecking Company.

I had a brick also but gave it to my son along with tons of baseball cards.

I've been collecting since I was a kid and now have a museum-like White Sox collection. It runs the gamut from cards, autographs and bobbleheads to game-used jerseys, bats and gloves. I'm always looking to add to my collection. You can reach me at salukidave@comcast.net. Thanks, Dave

Fantastic items people! Thanks for sharing. Probably the most cherished item in my collection are my two seats, 1 from Old Comiskey and a blue one from the new Comiskey taken out just before the demolition of the old park, and the renovation of the new park.

Default Another Nellie Fox Card Up For Sale

I was checking out eBay this morning and saw another Nellie Fox jersey card up for sale. I know we have quite a few Nellie Fox fans on this board, so Iím posting this just as an FYI if you wanted to add it to your collection.

I don't, but I'm hoping to buy Dylan Covey at the next garage sale and have him mow my lawn next year.
