This was a much-needed Sox victory to put a smile on my face.

The balls and strikes were horrendous, as usual. The Marshall homer given up was a direct result of not getting two calls in the zone that Cleveland pitching had been getting called strikes all night. Electronic strike zone can't get to the majors soon enough.

Very nice bounce back for Eloy and Dylan.

How can everyone on Earth except Renteria and Cooper know that Evan Marshall sucks?

Counting tonightís debacle, Marshall now has a 5.68 ERA, a .290/.377/.495 opponentsí slash, and a 58% inherited runners scored rate since his miracle run ended in June.

18 appearances of brilliance, followed by 27 appearances of junk. Yet Ricky canít be bothered to make an adjustment when presented with a new reality.

Balance my ass.

Made me look it up on ESPN and you're right on. And woe be unto those who question the little gods of baseball behind the catcher. Two painted strikes. Machinery, get a move on.

Cease was dealing up to the very end. Nice bounce back for him.

It's a shame he was pulled so Marshall could serve up the homer, but I probably would've pulled him from the game at that point if I were managing. At least he avoided the loss.
