...And it certainly proved to be a stupid decision in Jayís third at-bat. Down 3-0, 2 on (Moncada at 2B, McCann at 1B), 2 outs. A patented Jon Jay grounder to 2B ends the threat.

Wouldnít it have been awesome to have someone hitting in that spot who had a decent chance to hit the ball out of the ballpark?

That plus Abreu gets a day off, strange since the Sox have tomorrow off or maybe Jose is packing his bags.

He's done that regularly with players given them a day off prior to a day off to give them two days off. Just Abreu's turn.

Oh and Jay is batting .500 against the Twin's starting pitcher. Sure it's 1/2 but still .500

I hate the way the game has gone where just about all we see are homer's and Ks but Jay at clean up, the guy hits a homer for every 127 plate appearances or about every 32 games.

Covey is starting against the Twins. The batting order is irrelevant.

He actually posted that at 1:21 about 11 minutes after the first pitch so probably was just commenting on the runs that had already been scored.

I run the risk of jinxing it, but tonightís lineup actually...makes sense. Garcia at 3B, Engel in CF, and Cordell in RF significantly upgrades the defense at all 3 of those spots, and it sacrifices nothing on the offensive end.

Iím sure it will all vanish into thin air tomorrow, but for today, yippee!

No Jay? Against a righty starter?

Pinch me; I must be dreaming!
