No walks for Lopez. Sort of the key to beating the Cubs. Make them earn every baserunner by putting the ball in play.

Nice game for Moncada — 3 for 4, LaMarre — 3 for 3 and 3 RBI, and Smith — 6 total bases and 3 RBI. Anderson with some great defense.

Let's do it again tomorrow.

I want this to be THE weekend they talk about that was the demise for the Cubs this year. That would be a huge silver lining to this awful season.

Go Brewers...Up on the Pirates! Lead could be only 1.5 games for the Cubs. Hope for a win tomorrow.

We won Game 4 of our World Series, tying it up at 2-2. Let's clinch it at home!

Also, Palka is a big boy and I love him very much.

Not much for Sox fans to complain about re: this game, so no WSI thread.

When I turned it on, it was 3-1 Sox. That was fun to watch.

I'd love to see the Sox sweep this team, just for yocks. In the long run it won't mean much, but the fans would love it.

A satisfying win, no doubt. Gives the flubs fans something to fear about losing the division. Tonight’s pitching matchup doesn’t look promising, but maybe they’ll surprise us.

I probably have a different perspective than others. I know the number of losses will be huge, but I don't categorize this season as awful. I've enjoyed the team more than any other since 2012 except for the first two months of 2016.

I don't understand how this became a thing all of a sudden. Go back and look at the post game threads for the last few Friday/Saturday night games, if they even exist. Doesn't matter if the Sox win or lose, nobody is posting in general.

Excellent.

In the first inning, Lopez's fast ball was sitting at 93-94 and I thought it might be a long afternoon. By the 7th it was touching 97+. If he stays healthy, Lopez will be a stud. And it turned out to be a long afternoon -- for all the right reasons.

I know the guys we acquired for Quintana have yet to play a single major league game, but man that trade has the potential to be a total steal for the Sox. Jimenez looks like a monster at the plate and Cease was the MiLB pitcher of the year.

Key rebuild pieces had a great game. Lopez had a solid outing and Bustwatch went 3 for 4 and is hitting .333 in his last 19 game. I'd hardly call this game "garbage time" for the Cubs, either.
