I cannot imagine the front office was saying "Make sure Kershaw gets into game five, we also want Kelly to go at least two innings." I could see the front office having some degree of input in personnel moves during the regular season but not in an elimination game.

Well nothing for the Rays to be ashamed of but I was really hoping that the Stros would go down so Cole could rest his arm up for his debut with us on Opening Day. Oh well.

The 4 teams in the league championship series are all, once again, top 10 in payroll. No one is south of $165M in payroll.

Well, that may be true, but it is certain that the Braves, or any other pro sports team, will not go 108 years without winning it all, nor 71 without making it to the last 2.

This includes European teams that do not get relegated in a 108 year span. I really don't think the cub streak will ever be repeated ever again.

I was a doubter, but maybe, just maybe we can win with pitching, defense and fundamentals.

Very interesting conversation on FS1 that Glasnow was tipping his pitches tonight, which allowed the Astros to tee off on him.

I really enjoy watching this Astros team. They play the game the right way and the majority of their roster is home grown.

Good for the Astros. Now let's have them go out and crush the Yankees.

That and Gerrit Cole is looking unstoppable.

Give him all the money, get him on my team.

He was a great pickup for the Astros from Pittsburgh. How much in the way of top talent did they give up for 2 years of his services before Cole hits free agency?

Also, while Cole was good with the Pirates, he's taken it to another level with the Astros. Is that thanks to better coaching in Houston?

Loved listening to AJ and Girardi on FOX during the Houston/Tampa series.

There doesn't seem to be much of a point to the NLCS unless the Yankees can beat the Astros.

That was the first thing Dan Pleasac said on MLB Network. He was holding his glove higher on fastballs when he set up, which would explain how the Astros were able to take some pretty good pitches.

That was a fantastic pairing. I'd love to hear more with those guys as color guys.

Anything can happen in baseball. You really think that Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin can't put a start or 2 each together in a short series? Not to mention the 3/4 of Rendon and Soto is about as good as it can get.

Yeah the Nats are built for the playoffs. I think they match up with Houston about as good as possible.

Yeah, why play the NLCS games?

Pirates - Yankees 1960 WS
Jets - Colts Super Bowl III
Mets - Baltimore 1969 WS
The Miracle on Ice 1980 Olympics
N.C State - Houston - NCAABB 1983 final
Villanova - Georgetown NCAABB 1985 final
NY Giants - New England Patriots SB XLII
