Plus, the Cubs are down 2-0, and the wind is COMPLETELY out of their, and the crowds, sails.

I paraphrase for you, Froggie.

Does anyone know the ramifications of a corked bat? How much advantage does it give the hitter?

Maybe the sox should take a page from Sammy Sosa's book on how to become a better hitter

In theory, the cork is supposed to help because it lightens the bat and also has a better "elastic rebound" than wood, meaning it takes more force in, but then shoots out with more.

However, as kermit posted way back when, this has been under considerable scrutiny (some even believe corking a bat has no physical effect whatsoever). I don't know about that, but usually you can be pretty sure he's looking at about a 10-game suspension... What did Belle get?

None. I think at some point they believed it added something but they can make completely legal bats thats act like corked bats. In my opinion this is the best part, he's not even doing something that should help him, he's just doing something that will get him suspended.

Thanks guys...

Obviously, he did it for a reason. But, since he is a mental midget, who knows.

Corking the bat actually lowers the elasticity of the bat and Belle was suspended seven games.
