At this point the Quintana trade feels almost as lopsided as the Eaton one.

With Jimmy Nelson now out for the season, we can probably assume the Cardinals will be chasing the Cubs in the end.

If the Cards win tonight, then both Milwaukee and St. Louis will trail the Cubs by only 3 games. That would be extremely doable since the Cubs play both of those teams on the road for back-to-back 4-game series. I hope the Cubs lose all 8 of those games.

Then they'll get Washington, who if they get Harper back, can beat them (but will they?)

And now you have the Dodgers looking anything but an unbeatable team. (thank the S.I. cover jinx for their terrible slump)

The Cubs are not playing well now, but they are still world champions and they will stay that way until someone eliminates them one way or another. These are facts we have to face. I'd like the see the Brewers or the Cards end their season real quick, but I don't think it'll happen. There is always hope.

The Brewers getting swept by the freaking Reds didn't do them or us any favors.

Yeah, right now the Brewers are just trying to undo the damage they did to themselves by playing an awful series against the terrible Reds.

Rumors of the Brewers' demise are greatly exaggerated.

Unexpected but nice to see. Still don't think either they or the Cardinals can win it.

However if the Cubs have to fight to the end that could screw up their pitching rotation for the Washington playoff series.

Brewers and Cards play each other the last three games. Let's hope it's for the division.

The only hope is for the Cubs to **** the bed on their 10-game road trip. I don't see it happening, though.

I don't either. Looks like the NL Central race is over. The Brewers will have to sweep the Cubs again for things to change.
