Who would have thought it? Baldwin bested BMac, 5-4.

Stephens: 3 IP, 2 H, (4.76) Bajenaru: 1 IP, 1 K, (0.66) Martinez: 2-5, R, HR, RBI, .305 Rosie Watch: 1-4, R, .333 Anderson: 2-4, R, .322 Toca: 1-4, solo HR(8), .266 Borchard Watch: 1-4, 2 K, .155 Birmingham won 7-4 as Phillips started and went 5.2 innings. Reynoso blew a Save but ended up with the W (1-1, 1.29). Jenks pitched 2 scoreless innings to notch his 8th Save, 3.14. Young: 2-4, R, HR(6), 2 RBI, .273 Sweeney: 2-3, R, 2B, BB, .298 Fields: 2-4, R, 2B, RBI, .266 Rogo: 2-3, R, 3B, BB, .310 Winston-Salem used a 15 hit attack to win their game 6-5 although they lead at one point 6-0. Haeger notched the Win to improve to 5-0, 2.25. Wasserman picked up his 6th Save. Wasserman for the season: 14 IP, 10 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 14 SO, 0-0, 0.00 Valido: 4-5, R, 2B, RBI, .313 Collaro: 2-5, solo HR(9), .283 Amador: 2-4, .309 Kannapolis was rained out.

Lopez: 1-3, HBP. The game also marked the Charlotte debut of Ricky Gutierrez (who I guess will play 2B), as KW continues to bring in AAAA / marginal-MLB guys to help Charlotte's pitiful record.
Phillips' start was his 1st since being demoted from Charlotte. Nice line: 5.2 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 4 K. Young extends his hitting streak to 14 games, IIRC. Gonzo: 1-4, 2 RBI. Haeger's been a great surprise. I wouldn't mind having a knuckleballer on the Sox staff in a few years. Wes Whisler pitched in relief again, but didn't do so hot. |
