Default 5/4 games

Person got the start and the W for Charlotte, giving up only 1 run in 5.2 IP. Baj pitched 1.2 shutout innings for the save, dropping his ERA to 0.77. Anderson was 1-for-5 with a run scored. Biko reached twice and drove in 2.

Malone started again for B'ham and was solid (4.2 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 K), but Yofu and Pollok got lit up in relief (8 R, 5 ER). Owens and Young kept their hitting streaks alive with 1 hit each. Rogo was 2-for-3 with a 2B, BB, RBI, and 2 SB. Sweeney and Fields drew the collar.

W-S and Kanny both currently underway. Dizard gets the start for the 'Hogs with Hansen on the bump for the Intimidators.

Kanny's pitching getting chewed up right now. Hansen only lasted 2 innings. Through the first 3 innings, he and Moat gave up 12 runs with the help of 4 errors.

Meanwhile, Dizard is pitching a gem for W-S . . . a 1-hit shutout in the 4th. Unfortunately, the opposing pitcher hasn't given up any hits yet.

'Hogs win on Hinton's HR in the 16th inning! Dizard, Bakker, Wasserman, and Ovalles combined for 14 shutout innings. Dizard's final line: 5 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 6 K.

Kanny loses 13-3. Hansen and Castillo were 2-for-4. Hernandez was 2-for-3.

According to the Trib, Dizard's a bit dinged up. Sounds similar to Gio's injury. Hopefully, nothing serious.

Props to the beat writers for both major dailies, who recently have made an effort to contribute some minor-league notes.
