McCarthy records his first triple-A win. 6 IP, 7 H, 2 BB, 8 SO. 1 ER. Also made an error that led to an unearned run. Matt Smith (2 IP) and Kevin Walker (1 IP) with scoreless relief.
Anderson was a single short of the cycle (3-for-4, 3 R, 3 RBI). Spidale 2-for-4, Burke 1-for-4 with a HR, Greg Norton 1-for-3 as DH in his Knights debut. Bullard with a Contreras-like start for Birmingham (3 2/3 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 SO). Meaux got the win with 3 1/3 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 6 SO despite allowing 2 ER. Jenks allowed 1 H but got 2 SO in the ninth to record a save. Leadoff man Owens was 3-for-4 with a steal, but somehow managed to score only one run. Rogowski was 3-for-5 with a double and 2 steals, scoring 3 and driving in 1. Antoin Gray hit a solo shot. |

Amador hit a 3 run homer, his 5th. Collaro: 3-4, R, 2 RBI. W-S 1/2 game out of 1st. Kannapolis lost 3-1. G Hansen (0-4, 3.98).
