I really like the "other" Josh Fields

Watching him pitch against the Brewers and man does he have good stuff. He gave up 3 kind of B.S. runs in his first inning on a wind blown homer. But he has great control and a strike out type slider/slurve. I know he's 25 (just turned) but his career minor league era is about 2.70, great K/BB ratio etc. Anyone think he's a future big leaguer?

Yeah, that was a pretty impressive outing, only making the one mistake to Carlos Lee. He had pretty good command of his curveball and a decent fastball. What is he in the minors? A reliever or a starter? I thought he looked like he could be a pretty good middle relief guy up in the majors, if not now in a year or so.

He's been a career reliever. He's recorded some saves and appears in a lot of games. He just strikes me as very mature and smart. Today on a play at the plate he backed it up, the ball got past the catcher, he fielded it and tagged the runner before he scored. All this in front of KW. Everyone had to be impressed with his outing. It was much better than his line shows.

Not a thing wrong with that, and I don't see why he didn't move more quickly up the ladder. He'll be 25 this year, so his time is now.

Nice BB/K ratio and only 10 HR's in 256 innings. that's pretty sweet. With his curveball and changeup he could be a pretty good future closer. He's someone I'll definitely follow in the minors this season.

Melty said "D for Defense" during today's broadcast. Not that a pitcher isn't a defensive player too, but that will help me remember. It'd be even easier if the pitching Fields was a lefty .
