Default Ozzie compares B-Mac to Black Jack

Ozzie Guillen said. "But I'm pleased and appreciate how hard he worked in the off-season." Guillen said pitching prospect Brandon McCarthy reminds him of former White Sox starter Jack McDowell. "I think this kid is not far from the big-league level and he has a chance," Guillen said.

What comes before the but? I don't imagine it is flattering.
"Hope...may be indulged in by those who have abundant resources...but its nature is to be extravagant, and those who go so far as to stake their all upon the venture see it in its true colors only when they are ruined."

The "But" is of or pertaining to Carl Everett not B-Mac. Ozzie had nothing but the one positive quote on B-Mac.
Witness to the agony ('76 Sox season tix) and the ecstasy (2005 World Champions!)
