I'm trying to find something to stay positive about with regards to the Sox.
The Sox are on their way to a high first round draft choice. What does the 2005 amateur draft look like? In a similar vein, how are this year's and last year's top draftees looking right now, especially the position players, given that's where the Sox have the most holes on the MLB roster? Fields? Lucy? Anderson? Sweeney? Valido? Thanks for the updates...

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said. |

The report I got from the East Coast Professional Scouts Showcase in Wilmington, North Carolina, which features some of the best high school kids from across the country, is that the high school group is very good in terms of position players and pitchers, particularly power righties. If interested, you'll be able to check out many of these kids in the AFLAC All-American High School Baseball Classic which airs on FSN on Sunday, August 8th @ 2pm CST. This event features the top 40 high school players in the nation.
