Is Winston-Salem's park a bandbox?

I was looking at some of the Warthogs players stats, and I see some pretty high home run totals for hitters and some pretty high home runs allowed totals for pitchers. If I had to guess, I would say that the park is a bandbox, but I've never been there before.

Does anybody know the measurements of the park down there?

It's not a bandbox, we just have some older more developed players slugging away (Becker and Rogowski). These are guys IMO who should be in AA.

The fence is also pretty high in center. I wouldn't consider it a bandbox at all.

Casey Rogowski is still in A-Ball? Jesus Christ, I remember hearing about him at least 3-4 years ago.

This year he has done everything and anything to get himself promoted. I've been really dissapointed that he still hasn't. With the season almost over, its looking more and more likely that he'll stick in Winston Salem the rest of the year.

Well, I'm not expert, but I've always been under the impression that Rogowski has always been the Doug Mienkayvitch-build... Nice defensive first baseman, little pop, hits for moderate average... Essentially nothing to be real excited about.

Thats right to a point, but he's developing his power. He is a pretty strong, well built guy, and I could see him continuing to develop power. He does have a pretty swing though and is very good defensively (really good movement for a guy his size).

I'd say injuries are the main reason why he's been held back so long.

I fully agree. Casey barely got 200 at bats in 2002, and only 350 last year. For those that think he's lacking pop in his bat, he has 15 home runs and 21 doubles in 338 at bats this year. The kid is a pretty complete hitter.

Gload has never hit more than 18 homers in a season, and that was in Charlotte (of course). Ross also has never possessed Casey's keen batting eye.

They are pretty different at the plate...

Yep. It's pretty hard to be an effective hitter or hit for any power when you're recovering from a severe shoulder injury. I've always liked Casey, and I really talked him up 3 or 4 years ago before these injuries set him back a bit.
