- Apparently the Sox signed Reggie Taylor to replace Jeremy Reed in LF for the Knights. Taylor was a first-round pick nine years ago. Obviously, he has not really lived up to expectations. The 32-year old utility outfielder has played in 249 major league games, hitting .233/.275/.386. He was hitting .257/.304/.455 before being released (?) by the Louisville Bats. He went 0-4 in Charlotte's loss tonight, playing LF.
- Brandon McCarthy made his first start for Winston Salem today in the first game of a doubleheader. He threw five innings, giving up three runs on five hits. He walked none, struck out five, and served up a homer. He picked up a no-decision. WS won 8-7. - Have either Adam Ricks or Ryan McCarthy been signed yet?
