He doesn't possess a big fastball (It sits in the mid 80's) but the word is that his curveball is a very good pitch

I wonder if they'll bring up our ole friend Heath and give him a shot. He's the only pitcher doing anything in Charlotte.
And shouldn't they stagger Carroll/Noesi?

He'd be worth a shot with how he's pitched the last few weeks. We need someone who can go at least 5-6 innings and keep us in the game. If he can go 6 and give up 3 or fewer runs, I'll take that right now.

Heath is still walking too many...that won't play well in the majors (obviously). This whole organization is walking too many...must be some kind of contagion.

Default Sale wasn't quite as sharp as usual

The bullpen couldn't hold the lead, and once again Ventura was criticized -- only this time for taking out Sale too early.

"You know what?" White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper said. "You are damned if you do and damned if you don't."

We are going to take care of his health. Chris Sale is our crown jewel," Cooper said. "I remember when all hell was raised when he threw [127] pitches [against Boston on April 17]. With that being said, Chris Sale is a very, very good pitcher that if he keeps doing what he's doing, he's on the way to greatness. "Chris did his job last night. We should be able to expect to get four more outs, and obviously those have been elusive outs for us."uiq

This rotation has been very good lately.

Noesi has been so more solid than anyone could expect.
Sale is sale...a stud.
Quintana is rock solid, consistent.
Danks is on a roll.

Even Scott Carroll has had a few good outings.

This rotation is at least better than average....with only Danks making big bucks, for starters.

Default Sale gets extended rest

Sox announced their rotation through Sunday’s finale of a three-game series with Houston.
Jose Quintana, Hector Noesi and John Danks will pitch in that order, beginning Friday.
Sale will pitch in one of the games, Monday or Tuesday against Kansas City. The team has not made the date public.

MLB.com has Sale on Monday (vs. Catfish Guthrie), Carroll on Tuesday (vs. Cy Chen)

I had hoped Sale wouldn't pitch in the All-Star Game and would be starting the first game after the break. It really means just one less start in the second half, assuming he remains healthy. The All-Star Game might not have made a difference in the way the White Sox set up the rotation, though.

Sale (starting tonight) might get an extra day, which could give Bassitt a start Wednesday vs. A's, Ventura said.

Scott Carroll starting Sunday v Cle, Noesi Monday and Danks Tuesday v A's

#WhiteSox have named Chris Bassitt their starter for Wednesday night vs. Oakland. Had been TBA until today.

Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane
Robin Ventura says it's up in air if Chris Sale will get 2 or 3 more starts. Not completely ruling out Sale for final game. Pitches tomorrow

Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes
Robin Ventura said Herm Schneider thinks Scott Carroll (fingernail) will be fine for Saturday.

Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan
Probables for Tampa Bay: Quintana Fri, Noesi Sat, Danks Sun.

The White Sox would prefer to stick with a six-man rotation the rest of the way. So with a day off on Thursday, Sale wouldn’t pitch again until next Wednesday in Detroit.

I'm completely fine if Sale pitches twice the rest of the year with an absolutely strict pitch count. Besides the chance to sell some extra tickets at home, we don't gain much by having him pitch.
