Michalczewski has been amazing this year and has terrorized Kanny League pitching this June to the tune of .358/.422/.654, which is made more impressive by the fact that he's only 19. I'm more concerned about his defense than the strikeouts.

Strike out and walks rates have gotten worse monthly April-May-June but his overall season has been very strong. I'd be interested in some reports on his defense but he is said to be very athletic and has at least a few SB plus some triples.

Michalczewski rates
April- 25.5 K%
May- 26.6 K%
June- 31.0 K%
April- 14.2 BB%
May- 9.2 BB%
June- 8.3 BB%

Between Anderson, Danish and Michalczewski, the 2013 draft class, Hahn's first, is looking to be a good one at least in progress. Plus May is really turning his season around and offers a real SB threat.

Tim Anderson has missed the last two games because he hurt his hand on Friday. They don't know what is wrong, but don't seem too concerned.

Bad news. Montas will be done for the season after needing knee surgery.

Of the five players involved in the trade, Jake Peavy is one of two that aren't on the DL.

Davidson hits two home runs last night and finally gets over the Mendoza line. Slashing .201/.280/.414 with 15 home runs in 268 AB.

It sounds like it's actually not too serious thankfully. Reports have him doing a 6- 7 week rehab and then being able to resume pitching in the postseason instructional camps.

One of three. Wendelken and Rondon still playing.

Anderson is out for 4-6 weeks with fractured wrist.

I wonder if he can sustain it, given how bad he was at AAA

The odds are against it, but with these minor leaguers, you never know. He was actually somewhat rushed to AAA, likely because of his age. With our top positional player and our top pitching prospect going down, I'm looking for a straw to grasp.

And now Hawkins is out. Who in my mind are our top 2 position prospects and our only pitching prospect are all down.

Hawkins is probably a lesser prospect than Micah Johnson as this point. He's been better repeating W-S but the contact issues and pitch recognition are still there albeit on a lesser scale.

Right now, assuming Rodon signs (which he will), I would rank the prospects as the following.

1.) Carlos Rodon
2.) Tim Anderson
3.) Micah Johnson
4.) Matt Davidson
5.) Frank Montas
6.) Carlos Sanchez
7.) Courtney Hawkins
8.) Spencer Adams
9.) Trey Michalczewski
10. A/B) Chris Beck/Tyler Danish

Probably have Jacob May and Jace Fry as the next two up. This is from someone who's big on Montas and pretty down on Hawkins.

Is Anderson really that high? I think Davidson throwing up 9 HR in June pulls him back up the flag pole under Rodon.

What happened to Mitchell? Seems to be enjoying Birmingham so far.

A 25-year-old better be crushing AA pitching. Mitchell's there because he was the odd man out in Charlotte, there's probably a better than 50/50 chance he's outright released after this season.

As for Anderson, yes, he is that high, if he can stick a SS defensively, you're looking at a guy whose ceiling is 20-30 XBH per year, 30ish steals per year, and hit for a .330ish OBP. Valuable.

Michalczewski (Polish Power) is going to move up the list quick! Anderson is going to have to play OF in majors, but has a chance. Not sure about your middle of the back.
