You are correct. In 1967 twinight doubleheaders started at 6:00. But the regular start times for night games was 8:00 back then.

In the 50s and 60s starting time was 6 pm for twi nighters, regular night games started at 8 pm. As the years moved on the starting times became earlier and earlier.

The Cubbies before they had lights always started DHs at 12 noon so they were sure of getting both games in before dusk.

I bailed on tonight's #WhiteSox game as soon as I learned what a "derecho" is. Not sure why they waited until the storm arrived to call it.

The first ever Sox games I attended were part of a twi-night doubleheader in 1982. The Sox played the A's, lost both, and nobody hit any HRs to set off fireworks. My 9-year-old self was not happy. We ended up leaving in the 6th or so of the 2nd game and still didn't get home until well after midnight.

Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 19m

The 1959 Go-Go White Sox played 21 doubleheaders. 42 of 154 games, or 27 percent, of Sox games were in twinbills. They also had 38 off-days.

Can't wait to type "twi-night doubleheader" and maybe "twi-nighter" in Angels-White Sox game(s) story tonight.

Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox 40m

REMINDER: If you have a ticket for tonight's 7:10 p.m. game, your ticket is good for both games of the doubleheader! Game 1 at 4:10 p.m. CT.

I had planned on going also but stayed away after seeing the weather forecast. The Sox did a good job of calling a game early (before gates opened) vs. Detroit a couple of weeks ago and the forecast that night wasn't as bad as last nights.

We had a patio/lower reserved seat Groupon deal. The patio area outside flooded pretty quickly, and the power in the patio went out for a bit.

Does anyone know if redeeming the tickets will only get us uppers, since it says $7 on the tickets, even though they were listed for right field?
