Take away Abreu and the Sox are worse than last year.
But add back in Avasail and a healthy Eaton and are they still worse?

I'd say no.

Viciedo needs to be gone next season. He is a horrible baseball player.

As for Gillespie he still has above league average fielding percentage and range factors. He's only made 5 errors in 55 games at third, that's pretty solid if you ask me. So he made an error at an inopportune moment, **** happens.

The guy appears to be a true competitor and I believe he has the mental side to keep up with his physical skills
i'm thinking that as he continues to adjust and get more and more dangerous, opposing teams will start to go around him, and just take the bat out of his hands, since he really has no protection right now..

Since no one in the bullpen seems to be able to get the job done as closer, why try and force it .. depending on the situation bring in who fits .. i don't think they have much choice at this point .. situational pitching .. and moving Belisario back to his old role where he was doing fine, seems like a good idea .. i read where he always wanted to get a shot at closing .. too bad that it didn't go so well for him, but now he has to control of his ego and emotions and just get the job done as middle setup guy..

And Lindstrom and Jones.

Did you ever see Thiggy pitch? He'd routinely load the bases, but then manage to get out of it.

Yeah he was hard to watch sometimes. Definitely not a lights out guy. I remember Keith Foulke being a pitcher that I had absolute confidence in.

So what is the best Abreu can do? Does pitching figure him out or does he become the best power hitter in the league? Can he hit 55 plus in a season?

I feel like his career will be one of those where all of us wonder what could have been if he started in the bigs at a young age. Much like Ichiro, he looks like the type of player that could have broken many records had he started playing in the bigs early.

Jose Abreu recorded his fourth career multihomer game, and fellow Cubans Alexei Ramirez and Dayan Viciedo also homered,
as the White Sox held off a ninth-inning Toronto rally to record a
5-4 victory at Rogers Centre

Rookie Jose Abreu is the only player in major-league history
to hit 25 home runs in his first 67 career games ... Abreu owns
a career-high, 12-game hitting streak (.367, 18-49)

Is there a bigger joke in MLB than the Hold stat. Belisario was credited with a hold in last nights game, give me a break.

Agree. He can be a platoon 3rd baseman with Davidson, hopefully, down the road.
Sox need hitters who can hit above .300, and Conor is about the only one on the team right now.

He has been good defensively lately, but he made an untimely error...so it goes.

I agree and I don't care too much for saves either.
