Default *OFFICIAL* 5.30 Sox 1 - Padres 4 Postgamer

Danks (3-5) allowed just two runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. Over Danks' last two starts, the southpaw has yielded two runs on 11 hits in 15 innings, with eight strikeouts and just the one walk.
"You saw the four-pitch mix, the changeup was effective and it felt like when he really needed to throw a good pitch, it seemed like he did," said Padres manager Bud Black of Danks. "He gave them two runs over seven innings. That's pretty good."
Recap

If his back doesn't feel completely better, Konerko may end up having to go on the disabled list.

"I took some swings in the cage and the thought was that I'd be available [Friday] later in the game but ... we weren't sure enough if it was going to be ready," Konerko said. "We didn't want to burn two people right off the bat in the beginning of the game."

Kennedy put the Sox bats to sleep last nite....one of the worst offensive showings of the year....it happens.

Too bad for Johnny D. that he has two straight great outings and the Sox cannot get him the win.

But, so good to see him put together back to back good outings...his confidence should be high. He will be facing the Dodgers next week and will need it.

I think Abreu's return is coming at a good time. Tank is slowing a bit, so the righthanded power is MIA lately.

But, need to find a way to get these last two from the Pads.
A 7-3 homestand would work for me.
