The 3-0 green light is definitely one major philosophy difference between Robin and Ozzie's managerial style. During Guillen's regime, the 3-0 green light was rarely ever given and we had guys who could definitely handle it like Jim Thome, Jermaine Dye, etc. I echo the comments of previous posters that for the right situation and hitter, I don't have any problem with the 3-0 attack.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -George Carlin
