To your first point, the steroid scandal and the Pete Rose/Black Sox scandal both really get down to the integrity of the game. Fixing games (let alone a World Series) does enormous damage to the integrity of the game, people won't believe in the product you are selling. I would argue that steroids also damaged the integrity of the game. The numbers being put up by guys on steroids drastically altered the record book and cheapened it.

Baseball's records are, arguably, more important than any other sports. Using steroids and cheapening those records hurt the integrity of the game. For me that is enough reason not to give them the honor of the Hall of Fame.

There is a historical aspect to the Hall and those exhibits should (and I believe do) mention Bonds and Clemens. But being elected is an honor and I don't think that those guys should be given that honor. But they are by no means being whitewashed from the history of the game. Neither are Pete Rose or Shoeless Joe Jackson.
I was going to type a response, but you basically covered all of the bases I would have.

Bonds and Thomas were two of the best hitters ever.

One is in the Hall of Fame, and one is disgraced.

Works for me.

It's hard to believe that Maddux isn't going in with a Braves cap on. It doesn't seem right especially going in with Cox and Glavine. I know he played for 8+ seasons with the Cubs bookending his career around 11 ATL seasons but I think most associate him with Atlanta.

LaRussa will not be wearing a logo, either
