Doub, no offense, but I hate your sig gif. Just had to get that off my chest.
As for the closer situation, whoever gets it will have really bad hair based on recent trends with Sox closers.

But it's a lot easier to get 3 outs in the 9th with no one on, than to get 3 (or 2) outs in the seventh or eighth with 2 men on. |

Yes, I will still be saying that. You seem not to get our point, though we understand yours quite well ("We need a closer!!!").

Matt Thornton disagrees with that statement wholeheartedly.

9th is lefty heavy give it to Downs.
Other wise, Nate Jones Big K rate, keeps the ball in the park, just needs to now think and just throw

It ain't Lindstrom.
Probably better learning this early However wish we had signed an accomplished closer in offseason. Might have to give Webb a chance. But if he fails we have no one. |

I still haven't seen a better choice the Lindstrom.
Cleto and Webb are pitching better, but are used for multiple innings and getting out of jams. Lindstrom is still pitching 3rd best. Javy Guerra was a sharp waiver claim; might see him soon. |

I think Webb will ultimately be the closer. Seems like Reinzo could pretty easily take Webb's role as longman in the bullpen. Of course, you'd probably have to get rid of Belisario, who is getting paid $3 million this season and will probably get several more weeks to sort things out.

Sickening as it sounds, Axelord might be up here soon to take the long man role if those two starters continue to fail to put out quality starts. |

Axlerod is not on the 40 man, one of those guys would have to be dfa and thats not happening soon. |

I think Webb is the closer by the end of May and Lindstrom would be better in the set up role.

When's Jones coming back? He was my man until he gave Detroit a 5 spot in a 6-0 game and Reed finished the job by blowing the save. Now I like Webb. I'd also like to see Rienzo up here. I used to be an Ax supporter but they guy has me convinced of his badness.
We got ourselves some dead weight on that pitching staff.
