Default Addison Reed Appreciation Thread!

Not with us for long but as I stated in the other post he was a class act. Besides what he did on the field he was always apart of charity events and he was one of two bullpen pitchers who came out during and before games to interact witht he crowd. Numerous times I have seen him take pictures with fans then sign them the next time he saw them. He did this for fans like me (28 year old) and for children. He use to joke around with us and was just a class act. Thank you Addison for what you did on and off the field!

I liked Addison. He was not afraid to close in tough situations, and altho he did blow some saves, he never groused or pointed fingers.

I think he will have a long career, and in the NL, he will be good.

I do appreciate the job he did in the short time with the Sox. Not only did he hold his own in the tough closer role, but he was able to get the Sox a decent 3B prospect in return.

Good luck in Arizona!

Best of luck in Arizona, Addison. Thanks for being good enough to land us hopefully our 3B for the next decade.

+1! Couldn't have said it any better. I'm certain Addison took at least a week off my life. Someday, I may want it back.

His walk-up music was terrible.

Reed is a class act and was always interacting with the fans (signing autographs and taking pictures) before the games on his way to the bullpen. Some of the other players could take a lesson from him (along with Santiago and Jones) on fan friendliness. A kid going to his first ballgame will remember it even more if they get to meet a player before the game and get his autograph.

Even though he directly contributed to several of the gray hairs on my head last season, Addison seems like a straight-up guy, and I wish him best of luck in Arizona.

So true. Of course, almost no closers do not have some drama.

I appreciated how much Addison loved playing the game. He seemed to truly believe he was very lucky to be earning a living playing the game he loved and was born to play.

Something to be said for that.

Thanks for giving us some good memories in a season full of crappy ones. Good luck in the future.
