Yes, but most players provide something else. Viciedo has no idea what he's doing up there and essentially lucks into hitting every pitch he makes contact with. He has the worst approach in baseball and it shows in his production (lack of production).

No, people are providing links to credible scouting outfits that were not so down on Viciedo, your point is that the Sox were somehow the only people on the face of the Earth that thought Viciedo could develop into an everyday MLB player, that is just not true.

Not the best comparison. Trumbo over his career has been a 2+ WAR player. Tank has never, ever, topped 0.6 WAR in a season. Both are YOUNG in their careers, but its not been great.

Why not both and give the spot to Danks?

Cuz Danks sucks and his upside is a bench player at best?
At least that's how I see him. I just don't think he's ever going to be more than that.

![]() Danks did finally show something last sept. If he was the defensive wizard he was suppose to be, it may not be a bad move. Im up for it if the Sox can get young pitching for de aza and viciedo. Its a lost year no matter what people think now and to me de aza or viciedo dont fit in the future. |

but Danks costs them next to nothing, is superior to both defensively and may not be much of a downgrade offensively the other two have trade value and the money saved can be used in the catcher/3B spots |

Bottom line is you can not know what you claim to know. That the Sox were the only team that thought anything of Viciedo's potential/future.

No one has done such a thing since before he spent significant time in the big leagues, which is when scout's opinions changed. The last evidence of a scout mentioning Viciedo potential occurred before completion of the 2012 campaign.

You're right. I can't read minds. But I do read chats on BP, BA, ESPN and lots of articles and the consensus has been that most teams have been laughing at us in regards to Viciedo.

Well, you see, the great thing about chats on these various sites is you can supposedly quote them and thus not have to provide a stitch of evidence to support your stance.

Please. No one pays you for your opinion. Whatever your opinion of the likes of Keith Law, it's still more valuable than yours.

He's referring to chats held by the ESPN writers/bloggers. Some of those guys know their stuff. I can't imagine he's referring to stuff spewed by regular ESPN.com users.
