This is what the Tigers lineup should look like for next year:
Jackson CF
Kinsler 2B
Cabrera 1B/DH
Martinez DH/1B
Hunter RF
Castellanos 3B (until he gets more experience)
Dirks(?) LF
Avila C
Iglesias SS
They just improved their infield defense by a lot over the last few months. They also have more money to work with when it comes to an extension for Scherzer and getting a closer. Depending on how the money balances out, this could work very well for both sides.
Edit: Didn't know Infante was an FA.

Finally done playing Cabrera at 3B?

Are they better with Kinsler or Fielder?

Detroit wasnt getting over the hump with what they had so they try something different. I give them credit rather than knockin their heads against the wall with the sos.

Cabrera will probably move to cleanup now. I don't think this weakens the Tigers. Kinsler still has enough power to keep that offense close to what it's been the last two years. The Tigers remain the class of the division, so unless they move a couple more bats, I doubt this changes the hierarchy.

The Tigers were believed to be players for free agent second baseman Robinson Cano. Instead, they get Kinsler, which could lead to speculation that the Rangers may jump in on Cano.

Wow! I can't believe a team would take on Fielder's contract. $24M per year until 2020? Yikes. The Tigers have to be eating some of that.

This makes the Tigers much better defensively, moving Cabrera off 3B to 1B. If Castellanos goes to 3B they may need an OF and some more bullpen depth.

Rangers can now put Profar at 2B full time and have their big bat at 1B....pretty solid defense with Beltre, Andrus, Profar, Martin, Rios being above average fielders.

I was really hoping the Tigers would be stuck with that atrocious contract forever. This sucks.

The Brewers would be free of his final year (2015) which is a $4M buyout or a $14M mutual option for a 37 year-old part-time 3B. (A $5M overall savings for Milwaukee with the buyout.) Not a large ammount of money, but maybe they could be sold on the possibility of reviving Dunn in the NL.

For the Sox, Ramirez could DH and sometime 3B while providing an example to the young Latinos on the team.

Um, that pud is the last guy I would want providing any examples to young players.

I doubt they go after Cano. Profar will slide to 2B and the Rangers can see if they get Cruz on a cheaper deal.

If the Tigers find a 3B at a lower cost, then they can upgrade that pen.

Milwaukee doesn't need a First Basemen. They will either:

A. Resign Corey Hart(highly likely)

B. Put Norichika Aoki back at 1B.

Hart would most likely be a 1 year, low risk deal(i doubt he gets offered more elsewhere). If that doesn't happen, Aoki would go back, where he had a comparable OPS the last two years, for about $12 million less per year.

With Hunter Morris waiting in the wings at AAA, there is no reason for the Brewers to pay $14 million for Adam Dunn. They just don't need him.

I agree, this is a phenomenal deal for Detroit if for no reason other than it allows Miggy to move back to the less demanding defensive position and save his legs. He wore down toward the end of last year, too, and it really hurt them.
