I'm into total rebuild mode.

CF ADA
2B Semien
RF Garcia
DH Dunn
1B Abreu
LF Viciedo
3B Gillaspie
C Flowers/Phegley/other
SS Garcia

I'd move Ramirez +cash to the Pirates or Cards. Beckham for anything, including a bag of balls. Build PK a statue. I'd also actively shop Santiago, Jones and Reed.

My plan also includes prayers to God that Trayce Thompson figures it out so that we can move ADA at the deadline and Dunn having a good first half to move him too.

Those were good times. Remember how many people hated Crede?

I was one of the haters, though I never modified his stats. It was nice to argue about whether or not players like Crede and Rowand were good or bad, instead of agreeing with each other that our current team is bad.

EDIT: During Game 5 of the ALCS, with lots of guys on base and Crede at the plate, I swore that if he got a hit there I would never call him a bum again. He got a hit, and my Crede-hating days ended then and there.

Cool. I was hoping they'd sign him.

I like this signing if it happens. He looks like a good young talent. The Sox can definitely use him.

I wonder if there are any decent catchers playing in Cuba?

We could sure use one of those.

We still need to move some of these veterans before they have nothing else to move: De Aza, Ramirez, maybe Beckham. De Aza and Ramirez aren't bad hitters...we just need to go younger.
It's not a total rebuild..we have a pitching core (the baseball gurus would say to move Sale, Quintana, Santiago, Reed - all of them). We may need to move one or 2 of those guys.
Just do it sensibly.

He's not Gordon Beckham and your hyperbole is astounding.

I don't want ADA back- unless its as a 4th/5th OF- just too many strike outs and dumb mistakes this year.

I'm willing to give Beckham and Viciedo one more shot- while we work on plugging the much bigger holes we have at 3rd base (not sold on Gillaspie), catcher (I like Phegley as a back up- not a starter), and CF.
