Well, he's [rumored to be] ours for better or worse. Here's hoping he becomes the next Albert Pujols. Maybe some of the magic will rub off on Tank.

Lets hope if it's true he is all he's hyped up to be; or it will be a long six years. Now go out and sign some quality FA position players. CF, 3B, and C.

Here's a good read for those who don't know much about him:

Let's pray the hype is real, if it is we have our 1B for the future.

I really hope it's true.

From the highlights I've seen from the WBC, the ball explodes off his bat.

I'll take it. It sounds like more money than people were expecting him to sign for, but we have a lot of big contracts coming off the books.

I did not expect to have anything to be hopeful about this offseason, if this deal goes through then I'm wrong.

Not a lot of money in this era.

This is as an exciting signing ever for this franchise.

The ceiling on him and Garcia make this a very interesting and accelerated rebuild process.

Hard to not like this. He's not a Puig, but it's a winning move.

There are a lot of negatives in that article. "Slider-speed bat." "Base clogger." "Dead body type." Comparables include Viciedo and "Angels prospect C.J. Cron, a former first-round pick who hit .274 with 14 home runs in the Double-A Texas League this season."

But also "monstrous power"...and we know the Sox are suckers for monstrous power.

I hope he wins the Triple Crown, and we need a first baseman, but he's no sure thing.

Gotta wonder what an offseason off MLB conditioning will do for him.
