I agree.

The Garcia for Peavy trade was very well done- pretty good for a new GM- so I'm optimistic.

Now if he can only convince Dunn to retire.....

My take is that it doesn't matter. Whether they finish with 97, 98, 99 or 100 losses, this season is an embarrassment and a disaster.

I want them to lose 100 only if Houston wins out. That would leave them tied for the #2 pick. I suppose I should look up the tiebreakers, but I can only hope the Sox would get the 2 pick then.

I'm pretty sure head to head is the next tie-breaker (worse head to head record).

I believe you mean Miami and if tied Miami gets the higher pick as the Sox swept them.

No, they get the higher pick because they were worse in 2012. Ties revert to the previous year.

With Sale pitching tonight I figured we avoid the 100 losses, well he just let up 3 runs in the first so we won't win a game against the Royals and we will hit the century mark.

I'm half-rooting for it. If you're going to suck... suck with style...

You have a point, 99 or 100, either way it was a horrible season with some of the worst baseball I've ever seen by a MLB team. Errors, base running mistakes, couldn't hit a cutoff man, terrible batting discipline, this was like watching Rookie League baseball.
