Default The Indians have Reed's number ... and Sale's too

I was doing some research for my blog today and thought I would share this here:

Addison Reed vs. Cleveland: 0-2, 12.15 ERA, 2 for 5 in save chances
Addison Reed vs. everybody else: 5-2, 2.97 ERA, 37 for 42 in save chances

Nearly one-third of Reed's earned runs allowed this season (9 of 30) have been against Cleveland.

Chris Sale vs. Cleveland: 0-4, 8.61 ERA, four starts
Chris Sale vs. everybody else: 11-9, 2.16 ERA, 25 starts

Nearly one-third of Sale's earned runs allowed this season (22 of 69) have been against Cleveland.

Our best starter sucks against the Tribe. Our best reliever sucks against the Tribe. Is it any wonder we can't beat these guys?

Is this career, or 2013?

EDIT: judging by the counting stats I see it's just for 2013. How'd they do against them last year?

Thanks for posting their stats against Cleveland. I knew it was bad, didn't know it was that bad. Without Cleveland Reed is more than adequate, and Sale deserves his Cy Young. Of course it doesn't work out that way, all the games against all the teams count. Call me dumb, naive or whatever but I think this is fixable. At the very least it can be improved upon.

I seem to have mentioned somewhere, I believe by JB himself, that Chris Sale has pretty much dominated DET this season. Sometimes, teams have a players number, just like a player plays great against certain teams. It happens.
