Could be three more added to the list tonight, as San Diego, Philadelphia, and Minnesota are all on the verge of being eliminated.

Unfortunately, the Twins are LESS crappy than the Sox this season.

Remember that we were a .500 team on May 26 and only 4 games out of first, even though that seems like a lifetime ago...

No I don't remember...amazing. Seems like they've been last place all season. They were 14-20, improved to 24-24 and were back down to 24-32 eight games later.

The Angels are now the only sub-.500 team that has not been eliminated yet, and their magic number may be down to 3 before the end of the night.

All the NL spots are spoken for. Just have to sort out the NL Central pecking order.

Congrats to the Pirates for breaking their 20+ year playoff drought.

Ends the longest current NL playoff drought, which now falls to the Marlins, who haven't made the postseason since their World Series win in 2003.

The Royals, barring a miracle, will fail to reach the postseason for the 28th straight year, their last appearance being their World Series win in 1985.

Should have pitched him in the playoffs when they had the chance.
