No, there are people who are realists and understand that Danks is coming off major shoulder surgery and that this season is all about restrengthening the shoulder. I'm not going to write the guy off at this point; if he continues to pitch this way next season then I'll be concerned.

Didn't stop the majority of the board from asserting incorrectly that there was no reason to think he wouldn't be fine to start the year.

I expected Danks to be up and down all year, so this really isn't that surprising.
What's more concerning is that the team quit with a month left. You could make a case that the team quit a long time ago, but they are just going through the motions.

Other than two weeks over the course of the year, I'm not sure I can discern the difference between what's happening now and what's happened at any other point this year.

Going by that logic, the majority of people posting in this thread seem to think Danks is done, which means he will be fine going forward.

I don't think Danks is done.

But I do think Ventura (and Kenny Williams) should be.

Ah...but I contended he'd be bad this year and okay in the future because he's young. So...that would make me right.

If Ventura is managing next year, I'll be upset. I'd gladly take Ozzie Guillen back under the condition he is banned from using Twitter and that his sons are not allowed within 500 feet of USCF.

If Danks had posted a 138 ERA+ in 2011 I would say have patience, he's coming off a serious injury. Unfortunately he peaked in 2008 with that 138 ERA+ and it's been all downhill since then. Injury or no, I think we've seen the best of John Danks.

As bad as things are and as bad as the future might appear to be I say HELL NO to that idea.

I was thinking the same thing last night.

Bought two tickets on Stubhub for $15 apiece, first row behind the Scout seats...pretty sad. I did get to sit a few seats from Jerry Krause though, looking as surly as ever, and had the same drool face look the entire game.

Would you take Terry Bevington back? Not me. Not in a million years.

loved this quote from Beckham about last night:

"Yesterday was the culmination of this year in one game," Gordon Beckham said. "It was a very frustrating game. That was one of the worst games I have ever been a part of. A lot of the things we haven't done well all year you saw manifest itself in that game "

Agree

Sox should asking Dodger coach Tim Wallach to stop by the ballpark after the Dodgers World Series win....
