From what I've seen of him so far, he has great wheels and he's smooth in the field. But the bat obviously needs some work. The swing is a little too long, and he was late on the fastball more than once tonight. He did work some counts, drew a couple walks and got a man in from third base with less than two outs when the opportunity presented itself.
thanks
I'd like to see him get some at bats the last month. I wonder if Alexei can play 3rd. Heck, Alexei's first start as a Sox was in CF I believe. 2nd position was 2B.

Disagree

I am very happy to see the Sox playing much better baseball; but in the 6th Inning with runners on first and second with no outs why in the world was Danks swinging away when he should have bunted or at least attempted it.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I jumped out of my seat and gave Danks the bunt sign myself! He either didn't see me or chose to ignore the sign. The only reason I can think of for not laying one down in that situation is that Danks has been hot and Robin wanted to let him swing the bat in a meaningless game. But it really made no sense at the time.

Not to pile on from yesterday's thread, but still no apostrophe needed.

Seph, don't you love the Garcia's so far? Avisail showing five-tool potential and Leury with the speed and fielding skill. Nice to see.

Funny. When I originally typed Garcias a couple of days of ago, my iPad corrected it to Garcia's ("Let me open up the Weather Channel app on my iPad, Stone Pony.") and I didn't notice it until someone, who needs a life and has too much time on their hands, brought it up. So it's just been a jokingly done here.

Ah yes, because saying "you don't need an apostrophe there" takes so much time out of one's day.

Kind of is, there hasn't been much to joke about this season, except for how bad the Sox have been until recently. Now that they've played a lot better, even Chuck, Melty, and Big Hurt have been joking more on CSN. Last night, they were trying to come up with nicknames for Avisail and Leury since nobody there can pronounce their names correctly. So far, they've come up with Avy (like Ovy) and Louie. It was pretty humorous.
