I haven't been impressed by Danks, but I love the way he was all over that hanging curveball/mini Eephus pitch from Garza. He destroyed it.

I've never seen a coach, let alone someone not even the manager, get ejected during the lineup card exchanges before the game.

I'm guessing he asked them if they pulled their head out of their collective ass yet, or if we could expect more calls like the Ramirez out at the plate call from last night.

That was my guess. It would be great if he asked if they saw the replays.

I believe Earl Weaver once got tossed before a game.

Sounds like that's what it was. During the telecast, Hawk, Stone Pony, Frank, and Melty were laughing that Parent is pretty much the polar opposite of Robin.

I bet Weaver did, some of the stories about him are legendary.

Fun day at the park. Picked up a pair of great UD seats cheap on Sub Hub Saturday (thankfully in the shade). Ended an in-person 5 game losing streak!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it won't take all that much to contend next year ( some wise FA pickups). I say screw the draft choices and win as many games as they can and head into next year with good vibes.
It's great for fans to have this outlook, but my concern is that this late season rebound is going to delude management into actually believing we're one or two players away from contending.

Over the last 5 years or so, the Sox have built a team to win about 83 games a year with the hope that all the right pieces will come together and that the Sox will "surprise" everyone and make the playoffs.

IMO, the Sox are 1 or 2 players away from being back to an 83-win, 2nd or 3rd place team. We are not 1 or 2 players away from competing with Detroit. Cleveland, Minnesota, and even KC aren't sitting still either.

The White Sox do have a nice young core of starting pitchers to build around, but they have a lot of work to do before they can catch up to the big boys in the American League.

As far as draft picks go, i'm not rooting for draft picks, but this team needs to start drafting better (and maybe it has in the last couple of years) in order to become a consistent contender.

I almost fully expect the Sox to put together a team that can finish with 83 wins again next year. Seems to be the trend.
