6 straight games saved by Reed-- first time that has been done since Eric Gagne in 2003.

In other words, if the Sox lose, you criticize them. If the Sox win, you criticize them. As a paying fan, I fully expect my team to play its best at all times no matter what. What kind of fan are you? |

How is this happening now? Would have preferred it earlier in the year, but happy to see some consistency out of this bunch.

There may be a variety of opinions here on life, liberty and baseball. Call me naive if you like but I assume that almost everybody here is a diehard.

I saw that this was the first sweep in KC since 2005.

Who said they shouldn't play their best. I said they shouldn't over pitch their young pitchers.

There was a blurb in this morning's Tribune speculating that in September, the Sox might go to a six-man rotation or shut down one or more of their young starters.

Just for the record... is there any clear, conclusive proof that a strong, young pitcher throwing 120 pitches is doing any damage to his equally strong, young arm that throwing 100 pitches would not?
I'm not saying that Robin actually knows anything about this or is making the right or wrong decisions. He has clearly made some bad game decisions. I'm not sure this is one of them. Somewhere along the line the number 100 became the accepted limit for starting pitchers. I imagine for some the limit would be a smaller number and for some the limit would be a larger number. I think a determination that pitchers are being over pitched needs something more than a general number of pitches to back it up. |

Just be happy that there is some interesting baseball on the south side. I can't wait until next year.

Great time for Sale's turn to come up. Hopefully he can help give the pen a rest. We are playing above .500 teams mainly the rest of the way. I think that is good. Looking forward to the Yankees series too.

It's silly to use your young stud closer in six straight ballgames in this kind of a season. The best that could happen is he doesn't get injured. |
